Paper/Pencil Data Entry
All paper/pencil data entry is completed on the or.k12test.com site in the Testing, Test Students section for all rostered students. Primary eligibility codes are required to gain access to data entry. Assessors will select the student and subject and then select 'Data Entry'.

Once in Data Entry, the assessor will then select the student's response of A, B, or C for each item. Writing items are the only items scored by the administrator and will have 0 or 1 options for data entry. After all data is entered, click ‘Submit’ to complete the data entry process. Data entry may also be completed in multiple sessions by selecting the 'Save & Exit' option.

Item Administration
If the item was presented to the student but the student did not respond, the assessor will select 'No Answer'. Selecting 'No Answer' indicates the item was presented to the student, and will count towards minimum participation.
*Note: All items not presented and left blank will be coded as Not Administered and will not count toward minimum participation. See Minimum Participation below.
Minimum Participation Rule
The minimum participation rule, revised in 2022, is the same for paper/pencil and electronic administration. To review:
- Assessors must administer at least 5 items.
- If a student misses 5 items at any point within the administration of the first 10 items, then minimum participation has been met and the test may be submit.
- If minimum participation is met, it is recommended the assessor, or school personnel who knows student best (teacher, principal etc.) administer the Oregon Observational Rating Assessment (ORora).
Note: All grade-level subject area ORExt assessments must be attempted; however, the ORora only needs to be administered once. For example, if a student in Grade 5 has met minimum participation in ELA, they must still attempt both Math and Science, and administration of the ORora is recommended.
